My favorite read of the year:

I can't wait any longer to write about this book. If you have  a chance, please pick up a copy of this book and read it!

It's called Manna and Mercy by Daniel Erlander. In short (and the book is short) this is a broad pass through scripture, weaving in the themes that are always in scripture... what some call Meta-narative.
If I ever teach another bible study group, we will start with Manna and Mercy, before getting into any New or Old Testament book. It does such a good job of bringing understanding to the text of who God is and why he does what he does.
If people in churches would read this book, we might get away from the awful certainty plague of "I'm right and they are wrong." Also, it would be fine to read with a group or with a younger person - maybe high schoolers.

It's about 90 pages, full of drawings and every word is hand written. I love this guy's view of scripture!

Go to his website here.

Please read it.
